Your First Visit
Your initial exam will last about 30 minutes to one hour. We will review your medical and dental history and perform a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums, and specifically focus on the reason your dentist referred you to our office.
In most cases, during this initial consultation we will be able to provide a diagnosis of your periodontal condition, give you a fee estimate, and propose a treatment plan to improve your dental health.
Because we know your time is important, we try to stay on schedule to minimize waiting. Prior to your appointment, please ensure you have all necessary information available to provide to us during your consultation.
This includes a full list of any medications you may be taking (prescription and non-prescription) as well as any dental insurance policy information. You may obtain necessary forms (health history form and privacy policy form) ahead of time from our website. These forms will need to be completed before you are seated the day of your appointment.
Please assist us at the time of your first visit to our office by providing the following information:
- Your referral slip (if you have one)
- Any X-rays from your referring dentist (if given), including any panoramic X-ray taken within the previous six months
- Health history
- A list of medications (prescription and/or non-prescription) you are currently taking
- Your dental insurance information, if insured
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your scheduled consultation appointment so we can verify any information. A parent or guardian must accompany patients under 18 to this consultation appointment.
