Safety and Infection Control
- Health and Safety of our patients and staff is a top priority at Ottawa West Periodontics.
- We will continue to follow the strict recommendations from Public Health Ontario (PHO), the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) for guidelines in infection control.
- We have ensured that all infection control protocols and guidelines are followed as recommended.
- PlexiGlass barriers have been installed at our reception desk.
- Air quality is optimal in our clinic by ensuring that the HVAC system works well and filters are changed regularly.
- Medical grade HEPA air purifiers will also be used in the operatories to further enhance air quality.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has always been worn at Ottawa West Periodontics for surgical procedures and we will continue to wear all recommended PPE, such as isolation gowns, face shields, protective eyewear, head covers and appropriate masks, including N95 masks, for procedures that require them.
- During the COVID-19 period:
- We will be asking you COVID-19 related questions prior to your appointment and upon arrival on the day of your appointment.
- For new patients, we ask that you fill your medical questionnaire and provide us with a current list of medications you take daily (prescription and over the counter), prior to your appointment.
- Unless the patient is a minor, we ask that you arrive alone at your appointment.
- You will be asked to sanitize your hands upon entering our clinic.
- We strongly recommend wearing a mask at your appointment.
